Router Support and Network Troubleshooting for Work From Home

The internet is an extremely crucial resource for entertainment but it becomes truly indispensable when most of us are ‘working from home’. Suppose you’re on an important video call or in a team meeting and the network blips, it can be disastrous. Moreover, you need fast and seamless internet connectivity for working from home; however, there is no IT department there to help you out. To ensure that you don’t face any problems related to network connectivity, you should regularly keep checking your router for any problems. In case you aren’t able to fix it, you can call up a technical support team to provide you router support.
Coming to the flip side, if you are facing issues with your network, there is no need to worry as you can fix minor problems by yourself without spending a buck. The Wi-Fi connection in your home can slow down or even stop completely. This might put a halt to your office work; you definitely don’t want that. We understand this and to solve your problems we have curated some basic fixes that can solve most of your troubles.
Basic Troubleshooting and Router Support:
Here are some quick fixes to solve any minor issues with your Wi-Fi router and internet connection. These should work for you unless your router is bonkers. Take a look:
  1. Get in range for better connectivity: Check the signal status on your computer, if it is poor or average then get closer to your router to receive better signals and Wi-Fi connectivity on your PC.
  2. Update the router software/firmware: Sometimes, the router software gets outdated, login to your router and update its firmware version.
  3. Use ‘Smart Connect’ on your router: Use this option to get better bandwidth on your PC and cut off the unnecessary connections to your router.
  4. Upgrade your router, unplug extra devices: Remember to switch off/unplug all the extra connections to the Wi-Fi. For ex: home voice assistant devices, smart TVs etc.
  5. Minimize your internet load: Shut down the extra bandwidth sucking apps on your PC and the background processes that keep using the internet. You will see your internet speed increasing after this.
  6. Use wires to connect to the router: You can also hardwire your PC to the router to mitigate any Wi-Fi connection problems. It will give you a faster internet speed without any pauses due to connection troubles.
The above mentioned fixes can take care of most troubles related to routers, however there are a few problems that cannot be solved with these fixes. If your router is too old and doesn’t support the latest Wi-Fi protocol, you will have to buy a new one. You may also have to subscribe to a faster internet plan to work from home and carry out high end tasks on the internet. Extenders/repeaters can also be used to reach the dark spots in your house. These amplify your Wi-Fi signal and provide your PC a better signal strength even in the farthest corner of your home.
We hope your ‘work from home’ will become problem free after this. At least, your router troubles will go away. If you’re still stuck, try contacting a technical assistance team at 1-800-986-4764 to guide you and solve your problems.
